The present invention is a device and a method for continuing power supply to a radio, wherewith power can be continuously supplied to a radio repeater so that the radio can be used effectively during a blackout test. The device for continuing power supply to a radio performs continuous radio communication during a blackout test for a vessel and includes a power supply continuation conversion unit in which a radio repeater power supply is usually connected to a main power supply. The radio repeater power supply is connected to a public power supply, which is activated when the main power supply is blocked, and the power supply of the radio repeater is automatically connected to the public power supply in case the main power supply is blocked. According to the method for continuing power supply to a radio in the present invention, a radio repeater power supply is usually connected to a main power supply for the radio to be activated; therefore, the radio communication is continuously performed during a blackout test for a vessel. If the main power supply is blocked during the test then the power supply of the radio repeater is automatically connected to a public power supply using generator power in a call wire by a power supply continuation conversion unit. Accordingly, a simple sequence circuit is used and thus the costs can be reduced, the weight can be as low as approximately 1 kg, the use can be effective in various environments, and the power supply to the radio is continued so that change to the call wire power supply is performed during a power outage and the time consumed in the operation can be saved significantly. |
