PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic control device which is capable of improving initial followability of a controlled variable to a target value without making behavior of a control object device unstable when the target value is slightly varied.SOLUTION: In an electronic control device 1, a control input calculation unit 14 uses a nonlinear characteristic function defined by a nonlinear characteristic value SN for a value SGM of a switching function &sgr; to calculate a nonlinear input variable UN being a component of a control input variable. Nonlinear characteristics of the nonlinear characteristic function are such that the nonlinear characteristic value is increased from a prescribed positive value in the case of the value of the switching function being larger than zero, the nonlinear characteristic value is zero in the case of the value of the switching function being zero, and the nonlinear characteristic value is decreased from a prescribed negative value in the case of the value of the switching function being smaller than zero. |
