An electric-powered parking brake device comprises: an electric-powered motor (M); a translational mechanism (A) which converts a rotational motion of a rotor axle (12) of the electric-powered motor (M) to straight-line motion of a side member (5) and operates a brake; a lock mechanism (40) which anchors the location of the slide member (5); a control device (50) which controls the electric-powered motor (M) and the lock mechanism (40); a brake load estimation means (60) for estimating braking force; and an electric-powered parking brake operation instruction device (70) which is capable of arbitrary manipulation. Even if the electric-powered parking brake operation instruction device (70) is not manipulated, the control device (50) automatically executes a parking brake operation when a vehicle stop state is detected, said executed execution parking brake force F1 being set to a smaller value than a normal parking brake force Fmax when in normal parking brake operation from a manipulation of the parking brake operation instruction device (70), and expands the range of the application of the parking brake operation. |
