摘要 -49 Abstract METHOD, APPARATUS AND SYSTEM FOR ENCODING AND DECODING THE TRANSFORM UNITS OF A CODING UNIT Disclosed is a method of decoding a plurality of coding units from a bitstream of video 5 data. The method determines a coding unit structure of the plurality of coding units from a first data block of the bitstream. The coding unit structure describes a division of a coding unit into the plurality of coding units. The method decodes, according to the determined coding unit structure, bypass encoded data for the plurality of coding units from a second data block of the bitstream. The method decodes, according to the determined coding unit 10 structure, residual data for the plurality of coding units from a third data block of the bitstream. The method then forms the plurality of coding units from the bitstream using the residual data and the bypass encoded data. A method of encoding is also disclosed. Specifically disclosed is a method (1100) of decoding a transform unit containing chroma residual coefficients from a video bitstream, the transform unit containing at least one 15 chroma residual coefficient array associated with a single chroma channel. The method determines (1102) a size of the transform unit, the size being related to a hierarchical level of the transform unit in a corresponding coding unit; identifies (1104) a maximum number of inverse transforms, used for transforming the at least one chroma residual coefficient array, according to the determined size; decodes (1106) from the video bitstream the at 20 least one chroma residual coefficient array using the identified maximum number of transforms for the chroma channel of the transform unit; selects (1108) an inverse transform for the decoded chroma residual coefficient arrays, the inverse transform being selected from a predetermined set of inverse transforms; and applies (1110) the selected inverse transform to each of the chroma residual coefficient arrays to decode chroma 25 residual samples for the chroma channel of the transform unit. 6743714_1 P050104_speci-lodge
