PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas explosion experience device, easy to handle, and capable of safely performing experience learning of the explosion of a combustible gas lighter than air without requiring consumable materials other than the combustible gas.SOLUTION: A gas explosion experience device 100 includes: an air-tight explosion chamber 10 formed by a cylindrical body made of acrylic resin having translucency and kept in standing attitude; a gas supply passage 11 for filling into the explosion chamber 10 an acetylene gas which is a combustible gas lighter than air; an inverted mortar-like combustion chamber 12 formed by interlinking the explosion chamber 10 above the explosion chamber 10; a plasma igniting device 13 being igniting means arranged at a position facing to the combustion chamber 12; and a safety release valve 14 which is opened when the pressure inside the explosion chamber 10 exceeds a set value. A power supply line 16a for supplying a high voltage current generated by a power supply device 16 is connected to the plasma igniting device 13.
