PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-mounted display device capable of reducing the occurrence of asthenopia caused by viewing different matters with the right and left eyes in user's binocular visual field.SOLUTION: The head-mounted display device allowing a user to view a virtual image and an outside scenery comprises an image light generation unit for generating and emitting image light expressing an image. In a predetermined display mode, the image light generation unit causes the image to be displayed in an area occupied by user's left eye visual field or right eye visual field while the head-mounted display device is mounted, the area being included in the emittable area of the image light in the image light generation unit. |
