PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating fibrosis using the antagonist of integrin α-4 subunit.SOLUTION: A method of this invention comprises a step of administering, to a subject having a fibrotic condition, an effective amount of a composition, the composition comprising an antibody homolog that antagonizes the interaction of both VLA-4 and α4&bgr;7 with their respective α4 ligands, an antibody homolog that antagonizes the interaction of VLA-4 with its ligand, or an antibody homolog that antagonizes the interaction of α4&bgr;7 with its ligand. |
