PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder which comprises a wipe unit carrying out an operation of recovering a recording head and a cap unit capping the recording head and allows separate movement of individual units with a simple and compact configuration.SOLUTION: In two guide rails 60a and 60b fixed to the lower part of a recording section 9, a pair of a first carriages 61a and 61b supporting a cap unit 30 and a second carriage 71 to which a wipe unit 19 is fixed are held in a slidable way. A first flange part 69 of the first carriages 61a and 61b is protruded outward relative to a second flange part 82 of the second carriage 71 along the extension direction of the guide rails 60a and 60b. A first rack tooth 70 to be engaged with a first pinion gears 75a and 75b is formed at a position not superimposed with the second flange part 82. |
