PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimensional measuring device that can be complete in an area above the conveying surface of a conveyor and readily measure the dimensions of goods conveyed by the conveyor.SOLUTION: A dimensional measuring device for measuring dimensions of goods G conveyed by a conveyor comprises a portal-shaped gate 2 arranged on and crossing the conveying path of a conveyor 1, a height measuring sensor 3 arranged on perpendicular parts 2a and 2a' of the gate facing each other to measure the height of the conveyed goods G, a width measuring sensor 4 arranged on the two perpendicular parts 2a and 2a' and the horizontal part of the gate to measure data for calculating the lateral width of the conveyed goods G, and an arithmetic processor for calculating the dimensions of the goods on the basis of the data measured by the height measuring sensor and the width measuring sensor. The height of the goods is calculated according to the position of the height measuring sensor having received measuring light parallel to the conveying surface and the lateral width of the goods is calculated on the basis of the height and the data measured by the width measuring sensor, both by the arithmetic processor. |
