PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic timepiece which achieves simplified reception control processing and is realized using a control device with scaled-down functionality, and which also achieves reduction in power consumption.SOLUTION: An electronic timepiece 1 includes: a receiving unit which receives a satellite signal; a generation unit 41 which generates generation information on the basis of acquisition information acquired from the satellite signal; a display unit which displays the generation information; and a reception control unit 42 which controls the receiving unit. The reception control unit 42 includes: an acquisition information setting section 421 which sets an acquisition information type; a satellite capturing control section 422 which controls the receiving unit, so as to perform processing for capturing a position information satellite; a reception state determination section 423 which determines, at predetermined time intervals set in advance, whether a receiving condition is met; and a reception stop control section 424 which stops reception if it is determined that the receiving condition is not met, which continues reception if it is determined that the receiving condition is met, and which stops reception if the acquisition information is acquired or if an elapsed time after a reception processing start time exceeds a timeout time set in advance. |
