摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide alloy powder for electrode use which enables the improvement of life property and the suppression of the worsening of low-temperature discharge property in an alkali storage battery.SOLUTION: Alloy powder for electrode use comprises hydrogen-absorbable alloy particles containing Ni and Mg; the content of Ni is 35-60 mass%. The element distributions in hydrogen-absorbable alloy particles' cross sections were measured by an electron-probe microanalyzer, from which a mean value of Mg peak intensities and a standard deviation thereof were determined. Consequently, a relative standard deviation calculated from the mean value and the standard deviation was 25.8-35.3%. An alkali storage battery comprises: a negative electrode including the alloy powder for electrode use as a negative electrode active material; a positive electrode; a separator interposed therebetween; and an alkali electrolyte.
