In the present invention, a ship maneuvering system has two outboard motors (3R, 3L) and a helm controller. The helm controller causes the ship (1) to move parallel to the lateral direction by means of causing the direction of shift of the two outboard motors (3R, 3L) to be mutually opposite as well as steering in a manner so that the lines of extension of the propulsion (P, Q) of the two outboard motors (3R, 3L) pass through the center (G) of movement on the center line (C) of the ship (1), determines whether or not the ship (1) is rotating in the horizontal direction, and when it has been determined that the ship (1) is rotating while the ship (1) is being caused to move parallel to the lateral direction, causes the intersection point (M) of the center line (C) of the ship (1) and the lines of extension of the propulsion (P, Q) of the two outboard motors (3R, 3L) to move from the center (G) of movement either anteriorly or posteriorly. |
