PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an icon operation device which has excellent operability and an operation method easy to be understood.SOLUTION: The icon operation device for allowing a user to input an instruction and information to an operation device includes: a memory for storing data about a plurality of icons obtained by associating which operation with operation contents of the operation device, the operation is possible for the operation device due to which part a user touches in his/her own body; an acquisition part arranged opposite from the user to acquire a distance image of the user; a gasping part for grasping the shape of the user's body on the basis of distance image data acquired by the acquisition part; a specification part for specifying an operation position showing where the user touches his/her own body on the basis of the position of a finger of a hand obtained by the grasping part; a determination part for determining the selection of an icon and operation contents to the operation device by the user on the basis of the shape of the user's body and the operation position; and an operation instruction part for instructing an operation to the operation device on the basis of the operation contents. |
