PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic member having a surface layer that develops good durability compared to the prior arts and has low hardness and small temperature dependency of the hardness in a temperature range for use of the member.SOLUTION: An electrophotographic member R to be used in an electrophotographic apparatus includes a surface layer 1. The surface layer 1 has such a crosslinked structure that cyclic molecules 101 having a functional group reactive with an isocyanate group, and polyrotaxane 10 having a linear molecular chain 102 that penetrates the ring of the cyclic molecule 101 and having terminal groups 103 disposed at both terminals of the linear molecular chain 102 to prevent the cyclic molecules 101 from leaving, are crosslinked by an isocyanate compound 11 having isocyanate groups at least at both terminals. The crosslinked structure includes a first crosslinked part 12 and a second crosslinked part 13 formed by the reaction of the functional group of the cyclic molecule 101 with the isocyanate groups at both terminals of the isocyanate compound 11, between the molecules of the polyrotaxane 10 constituting the crosslinked structure. |
