PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery excellent in safety and high in capacity.SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery including a nonaqueous electrolyte and a negative electrode having a negative electrode active material, the negative electrode active material has a silicon oxide represented by SiOx (0.5≤x<1.6), and the nonaqueous electrolyte has lithium fluoride. Preferably, the content of the lithium fluoride is 0.1-5.0 mass% relative to the mass of the nonaqueous electrolyte, the content of the silicon oxide is 1.0-20 mass% relative to the mass of the negative electrode active material, and the silicon oxide has an average particle size of 1.0-20 μm. |
