PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a density measuring device that eliminates the need to manage a reference chart when density measurement of an adjustment chart is performed by visual measurement.SOLUTION: A density measuring device measures densities of a plurality of patches having gradually changing densities formed on a patch pattern output from an image forming apparatus 5 as an image, and comprises: a storage unit 15 that stores a plurality of reference color images having different densities and density values thereof; a reference color display unit 19 that displays the reference color images and the density values thereof on a display screen 11; a reading unit 21 that reads the patches from the patch pattern; and a patch display unit 23 that displays the read patches on the display screen 11 to be made comparable with the reference color images.
