PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that in a conventional escalator, a weak-sighted person falls down, gets involved in a falling accident caused by reversely getting on the escalator, and the like, because the person cannot grasp an operation direction and speed feeling, and in a method using a printing sheet, it becomes impossible to be applied from the viewpoint of manufacturing and construction costs, and a life.SOLUTION: An escalator includes: a footstep group 4 which reverses and moves between a forward path and a backward path, and transports a passenger; and a handrail belt 6 which reverses and moves between the forward path and the backward path in synchronization with the footstep group 4, and has a surface layer material formed of a rubber system or a resin-based material. A projection-shaped display unit 6A is provided on the surface of the handrail belt 6 by heat junction which is formed of a rubber-based material when a surface layer material of the handrail belt 6 is a rubber system or is formed of a resin-based material when the surface layer material is a resin system, has a color different from the color of the surface layer material of the handrail belt 6, and displays a character, a pattern and the like in a dotted manner by the surface of the handrail belt 6 formed into a projection shape. |
