<p>A process for the preparation of antistatic foils or panels of rigid polyvinyl chloride or rigid vinyl chloride mixed polymerizates, comprises applying to one side of the foil or panel a thin layer of a lacquer which reduces the surface resistance of the surface which is lacquered to less than 106 ohms. The term "rigid", when used to describe a plastics material, is defined as meaning that the plastics material contains very little or no plasticizer. The lacquer may contain carbon black or graphite and the bonding agent therefor may be a mixed polymerizate of, for example, vinyl chloride. The lacquer may be dissolved in suitable solvents, e.g. cyclohexanone, and may be applied with a knife or with pressure rollers.</p> |
