Manufacturing a ceiling, preferably quilt having a filling (2) with a predetermined total length and the total width and with a shell (3), comprises: producing the filling comprising a non-woven fabric which is first non-woven fabric having a excess length; folding the non-woven fabric around an edge parallel to the total width to form a double-foot portion; and enclosing the filling by the sleeve. The filling in a foot portion (2a) has a greater thickness than in the remaining portion (2b). The length of the foot portion is greater than the total length of the filling. An independent claim is also included for the ceiling, preferably quilt made by the above method.
