PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger which enables a refrigerant to easily travel to the upper side in a vertical direction in a header even if a length of a flat multihole pipe is enlarged in a width direction, and to provide a freezer.SOLUTION: A heat exchanger 3 includes: a second columnar member 41 of a second header 14; flat multihole pipes 11; and multiple intermediate space formation bodies 42. Each intermediate space formation body 42 includes: a separated flow opening 42a for allowing the intermediate space formation body 42 to communicate with a separated flow space 141a of the second columnar member 41; and an opening 42b to which the flat multihole pipe 11 is connected. The respective intermediate space formation bodies 42 are provided so as to connect the multiple flat multihole pipes 11 with the second columnar member 41.
