PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a patterned retardation film, in which an alignment direction is more strictly controlled and appearance failure due to electrification is improved.SOLUTION: The method includes steps of: forming a pattern alignment layer by imparting an alignment pattern on a substrate 11; forming a retardation layer-forming layer comprising a polymerizable liquid crystal composition 36 on the pattern alignment layer; and forming a retardation layer by drying the polymerizable liquid crystal composition 36 while destaticizing the coated substrate which is coated with the polymerizable liquid crystal composition 36 by use of a destaticizing device 39 in a dryer 38, and aligning the polymerizable liquid crystal composition 36 along the alignment pattern. The destaticizing step is carried out by using conductive fiber lines 39A, 39B, 39C,... comprising strings or threads of conductive fiber; and each conductive fiber line is disposed between conveyances rollers 40A, 40B, 40C,... in the dryer 38. |
