PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile position detector including a ground communication device and an on-vehicle communication device and controlling operation of a mobile, in which secular change of an apparatus can be detected more accurately.SOLUTION: A mobile position detector comprises: an on-vehicle communication device including a communication antenna for communicating with a ground communication device; a power amplifier for amplifying a power wave signal being transmitted to the ground communication device; a directional coupler for branching a traveling power wave from the power amplifier and some of reflection power waves reflected from the communication antenna; and a test signal generation circuit for generating a test signal wave being transmitted from the ground communication device. The on-vehicle communication device includes a communication antenna communicating with the ground communication device, and a transmission antenna for transmitting a test signal wave. Failure is determined based on the traveling power wave, reflection power wave and test signal.
