PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating an effluent including cesium capable, despite being a simple method, of efficiently removing cesium included within the effluent.SOLUTION: The provided method for treating an effluent including cesium has the following characteristics: a salt of a hexacyanoferrate (II)-acid complex and a salt of iron or zinc are added to and mixed with an effluent including cesium so as to form a Prussian blue-type metal complex within the effluent; next, the pH of the effluent is adjusted so as to decrease the solubility therewith of the Prussian blue-type metal complex; a precipitate generated within the effluent is separated, and, following the separation of the precipitate and the treated solution, not only is the cesium content of the obtained treated solution lowered but also residual concentrations of cyanogen and zinc or iron are set equal to or less than the respective effluent standards thereof stipulated by an environmental ministerial ordinance (Ministry of Environment Ordinance No. 15, May 23, 2012). |
