Apparatus for use in a pivoting pole assembly including a first component comprising an outside surface adapted for connection with a support element, and a first inside surface, and defining a first central wiring passage; and a second component defining a second central wiring passage, and comprising an outside surface adapted for connection with the base end of the elongate object and an inside surface rotationally coupled to the first inside surface. The first central passage and the second central passage are fluidly connected and share a common axis of rotation, and the first component rotates with respect to the second component about a common axis of rotation. The apparatus also includes an annular locking mechanism including arcuate channels through a component; and protrusions from the other component extending into the channels such that upon respective rotation of components the protrusions travel along the channels. |
