The piston (1) has a refrigerating injection channel (5), whose injection opening cross-section is provided with a cross-sectional reduction (6) on the injection side. The cross-sectional reduction is expanded on the side facing away from a cooling channel (4) in a conical manner. The cross-sectional reduction is produced at a casting of the piston by a pressed part and by a screw-in part (8).
