A system (10) for facilitating asset acquisition, the system (10) comprising a processor (18) and storage (20), the storage (20) having software stored thereon, whereby the processor (18) is operable, under control of the software, to: store on the storage (20) information and/or data comprising: details of a guarantee limit, the guarantee limit comprising an amount available to an asset supplier (14) for repaying one or more deposits associated with respective one or more assets to be acquired; and details of a present commitment, the present commitment comprising an amount the asset supplier (14) is presently committed to repaying on the occurrence of one or more events; receive details of a deposit, the deposit comprising a deposit amount being at least a portion of a total amount required to acquire an asset; process the present commitment amount and the deposit amount to determine a potential commitment, the potential commitment comprising a potential amount the asset supplier (14) will be committed to repaying on the occurrence of one or more events if the deposit is accepted; compare the potential commitment with the guarantee limit; and accept or decline the deposit on the basis of the comparison.
