[Problem] To apply a coating with good efficiency on only a sliding part without the need for masking work or the like, and to form a film having uniform thickness on the entire area of the sliding part without excess or deficiency when a coating for sliding is to be applied to a disc-shaped substrate such as the swash plate substrate of a swash plate compressor. [Solution] A coating for sliding is fed from a coating feed nozzle to a sliding part while a disc-shaped substrate such as the swash plate substrate of a swash plate compressor is rotated in a horizontal position, the coating for sliding thus fed to the sliding part is smoothed using a doctor knife disposed in a downstream position in the direction of rotation of the disc substrate. |
