The device (10) has a synchronizer ring (26) arranged between a synchronous body (18) and a shift collar (24) and comprising an inner cone (26b) cooperating with an outer cone (18b) at the synchronous body. A loose-toothed wheel (16) is provided with a projection (22), which comprises external teeth for the shift collar. Hub centerings (24c, 28, 30) of the shift collar are arranged in the projection. The shift collar is pushed away over the synchronizer ring on a switching gearing (18a) of the synchronous body for switching of reverse gears.
