PURPOSE: An air conditioner for a vehicle is provided to change the propagating direction of air flow from a floor vent automatically using a deflection door operated according to the sensing information of a pedal location sensor. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner for a vehicle includes an evaporator unit, a heater core unit, a temperature control door, a mode control door, a control unit, a deflection door, and a pedal location sensor. The evaporator unit(130) cools the air entering through an air inlet(120) of an air conditioner case(110). The heater core unit(140) is installed on one side of the evaporator unit and heats the cooled air. The temperature control door is installed between the evaporator unit and the heater core unit and selectively passes the cooled air in which it through a cooling channel(C) or a heating channel(H). The mode control doors pass cool or warm air selectively through a defrost vent(DV), a face vent(FV), and a floor vent(FLV). The control unit(180) controls the operation of the temperature control door(150) and the mode control doors(160). The deflection door(170) is mounted to rotate on an outlet of the floor vent and varies the direction of cool or warm air. The pedal location sensor(190) senses the state where the initial position of the accelerator pedal is changed. |
