PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing apparatus allowing a technician to easily polish an object into a target shape even if the technician has no skillful technique.SOLUTION: A guide member 30 includes a first guide portion 31 formed into a linear shape along a widthwise direction being a reference direction, and a second guide portion 32 formed into a curve shape obtained on the basis of a target shape. A support member 20 includes: a first contact portion 23 contacting with the first guide portion 31; and a second contact portion 24 which is disposed at a position closer to the contact point between a polishing object 90 and a polishing body 10 than that first contact portion 23 and which has a second contact portion 24 contacting with the second guide portion 32. While the first guide portion 31 and the first contact portion 23 are brought into with each other, and the second guide portion 32 and the second contact portion 24 are brought into contact with each other, the support member 20 and the polishing body 10 supported by the former are moved in the widthwise direction, so that the contact point between the polishing body 10 and the polishing object 90 moves along the same locus as a target shape. |
