PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel production means of 2-deoxy-scyllo-inosose in place of a fermentation method or the like.SOLUTION: A method for preparation of 2-deoxy-scyllo-inosose includes steps of: converting glucose to glucose-6-phosphoric acid by polyphosphoric acid glucokinase; and converting glucose-6-phosphoric acid to 2-deoxy-scyllo-inosose by 2-deoxy-scyllo-inosose synthase.
