PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical drum instrument that includes a hollow shell having one or more openings capable of forming a peripheral bearing edge, and a head member having a performance surface.SOLUTION: There is provided a single tapered coupling member 36 that has a most thin part located in the vicinity of at least one opening of a hollow shell 18, or conjugated tapered coupling members 36 formed integrally with an outer surface of a shell wall and a wall of a head member 12, respectively. The head member 12 that has or does not have the integrated tapered coupling member 36 is attached onto an end of the hollow shell 18 having an integrated coupling tool, and the head member 12 and hollow shell 18 are attracted to each other in a frictional engagement state to establish air-tight fitting to seal a coupling portion where the head member 12 and hollow shell 18 are coupled to each other, and thereby energy generated by hitting a performance surface is directly transmitted to make it possible to improve sound quality of the instrument. |
