Manufacturing a multi-part, preferably multi-layer bipolar plate (100) for an electrochemical device (102), comprises: generating at least one sealing element (130) from an elastic material on a first part (122) of the bipolar plate by a molding-process; and connecting the first part of the bipolar plate with the sealing element formed on it and a second part (124) of the bipolar plate along at least one connecting line.
