PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosensitive recording medium excellent in image quality and surface strength.SOLUTION: The thermosensitive recording medium has a thermosensitive recording layer containing a colorless or light-colored electron-donating leuco dye and an electron-accepting developer on a support. As the support, one having a density of 0.95 g/cmor less is used. The thermosensitive recording layer contains a urea-urethane compound of a specific structure. A reduction in the density of the support is achieved by mixing a saturated fatty acid amide represented by a stearic acid amide with a support-constituting material such as a pulp raw material.
