PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a color material total amount limitation table which allows an image forming apparatus to exhibit potential color reproducibility, while connecting the gradation smoothly, by limiting the color material total amount appropriately with a scale having a physical meaning to substantially represent the amount of color material.SOLUTION: Table creation processing (S10) is carried out based on a first converter 14 for determining the value of color material amount represented by a second scale having physical meaning to indicate the amount of color material, from a signal value represented by a first scale defining the amount of usage of each color material C, M, Y, K, a second converter 16 for determining a signal value represented by the first scale from the value of color material amount represented by the second scale, and a color material total amount upper limit 12 represented by the second scale. When determining the output CMYK value at a point in a color solid, a color material total amount value calculated by first interpolation in a space of color material total amount of the second scale, and a CMYK value calculated by second interpolation in a space of the first scale are used. |
