PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the difference in the adhesion amount of a developer on the surface of a developing member after development.SOLUTION: A developing device (G) includes a second developing member (22) which is arranged to face an image holder (PR) in a second development area (Q2b) on the upstream side of a first development area (Q2a) in the rotational direction of the image holder (PR) and holds the developer on the surface of the second developing member (22), to develop a latent image on the surface of the image holder (PR), the developer transferred from a first developing member (21) in a transfer area on the upstream side of the first development area (Q2a) in the rotational direction of the first developing member (21) and an opposed member (36) which is arranged to face the surface of the second developing member (22) on the downstream side from a release position (33a) where the developer is released from the surface of the second developing member (22) in the rotational direction of the second developing member (22) and applies a magnetic force for holding the developer, to make the held developer slidingly rub the surface of the second developing member (22). |
