The invention relates to a grinding device (1'), in particular a vertical mill for comminuting a product to be ground, said device having: a) at least two grinding bodies (4, 5) which can be moved relative to one another, said two grinding bodies (4, 5) together forming at least one grinding region in which the product to be ground can be ground by the two grinding bodies (4, 5); and b) at least one contact pressure device (7') having at least one hydraulic cylinder (8) with a cylinder working chamber and having at least one gas spring (9) with a spring working chamber, the cylinder working chamber and the spring working chamber having a fluidic connection. In order to produce a grinding device (1') that is no longer at risk from unstable vibrational conditions, according to the invention c) the smallest cross-sectional area between the cylinder working chamber and the spring working chamber through which fluid passes is at least 10 % of the cross-sectional area of the cylinder working chamber and/or d) a connecting section extending between a first transitional cross-section of a connecting component, which cross-section communicates with the cylinder working chamber, and a second transitional cross-section of the connecting component, which cross-section communicates with the spring working chamber, has a maximum length of 100 cm. |
