Customized content is presented to user of a browser. Textual input, such as a search term from a user is received by the browser and customized content is determined based on the textual input. Customized content includes user-specific content and general content. The user-specific content is content of potential interest to the user based on the textual input from websites that the user visited, bookmarked, searched, and shared, as well as from the user's social network connections. The general content, on the other hand, is of potential interest to a plurality of users, such as trending topics on the web. The determined user-specific content and general content are transmitted to the browser for presentation to the user. |
