The device has first, second and third terminal nodes (56-1 to 56-4) for coupling a coil (22) between the first and second terminal nodes and another coil (36) between the first and third terminal nodes. The two coils are operated in two modes by the first and second terminal nodes in a configuration and by the first, second and third terminal nodes in another configuration, respectively. Two switches are coupled between the first and second terminal nodes and a ground, respectively. Two resistors are coupled between the second and first terminal nodes and the ground, respectively. The terminal nodes are designed as connection poles, terminal pins or terminals. An independent claim is also included for a device comprising a soft-magnetic magnetic circuit.
