PURPOSE: A handover system and method in a mobile communication network are provided to perform inter-frequency handover without a compression mode. CONSTITUTION: A base station controller(230) receives an active set update completion message from a mobile terminal(210), and transfers a neighboring base station list and handover-related information to the mobile terminal. The base station controller receives from the mobile terminal a measurement report which indicates frequency signal strength is below a measurement value. The base station controller transfers a physical channel reconfiguration message to the mobile terminal. In addition, the base station controller a radio link reconfiguration message to a base station B. |
