A method for supplying a UPnP(Universal Plug and Play) resource surrogates and a system are provided to enable surrogates to add new services without updating new hardware or firmware as replacing the current services with the new services, and to reduce the current service functions as updating the functions to return to previous versions. A surrogating UPnP device(112) is configured to function as a surrogate for a surrogated UPnP device which provides a surrogated service. The surrogating device(112) is configured to provide a surrogating service for the surrogated service. The surrogating device(112) includes an advertiser(116). The advertiser(116) is configured to make the surrogating device(112) advertise availability of self, the surrogating service, the surrogated device, and the surrogated service, in order to notify a control point(117) that the surrogating device(112) is an alternative for the surrogated device and the surrogating service is an alternative for the surrogated service. |
