<p>A sporting shaft, kits, and corresponding methods are described. The shaft has an elongated shaft section, and a paddle section. The paddle section can enter into contact with an object, and has an upper edge and a lower edge. The junction of the paddle and shaft sections forms a gripping surface. The shaft also has an elongated shaft protrusion which projects from the shaft section and can increase the shaft width. The shaft protrusion extends along the shaft section. The shaft also has a paddle protrusion disposed adjacent to the gripping surface and projecting from at least one of the upper and lower edges of the paddle section. The paddle protrusion can increase an edge thickness the upper or lower edges so as to substantially adapt the at least one edge to a natural contour of the hand when gripping the shaft.</p> |
