PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic book management method capable of easily lending and borrowing a purchased electronic book within the limited range of a purchaser, such as close friends to one another, a server device, and a computer program.SOLUTION: The electronic book management method includes respective steps: a first step for having an electronic book purchaser designate an electronic book of a lending object, and making the electronic book of the lending object unbrowsable for a fixed period on a browsing device of a content purchaser; a second step for establishing a communication connection by proximity communication between a user terminal on a credit side and a user terminal on a debit side; a third step for preparing content management data of the electronic book of a lending object to be used by the credit side in the credit user terminal; and a fourth step for transferring content management data of the electronic book of a lending object and the electronic book data of a lending object from the credit user terminal to the debit user terminal by proximity communication.
