PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a diesel particulate filter, in which chips and burrs can easily be removed and the production efficiency of which can be improved.SOLUTION: In the method for producing the diesel particulate filter 170, a columnar honeycomb structure 70 having a plurality of through-holes 70a formed in parallel with one another is used. The columnar honeycomb structure 70 has a first end face, on which one opening of each of the plurality of through-holes 70a is positioned, and a second end face, on which the other opening of each of the plurality of through-holes 70a is positioned. The method for producing the diesel particulate filter comprises a cutting step of cutting the honeycomb structure 70 to the direction almost perpendicular to the plurality of through-holes 70a, jetting air almost vertically toward the first end face, and simultaneously sucking the air on the side of the second end face to remove the chips and burrs stuck to the honeycomb structure. |
