PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metal compound oxide particle, in which the metal compound oxide particle that has small particle size, contains a large amount of a dopant element and is high in crystallinity and electric conductivity is produced and to provide the metal compound oxide particle obtained by using the method for producing the metal compound oxide particle and a transparent electroconductive material.SOLUTION: The method for producing the metal compound oxide particle, the metal oxide particle of which is doped with a dopant element other than a metal constituting the metal oxide particle, comprises the steps of: preparing a precursor solution containing metal salt of the metal constituting the metal oxide particle, metal salt of the dopant element, an alkali compound and a dispersion medium having 400°C or higher critical temperature; and heating the prepared precursor solution to the temperature equal to or higher than the critical temperature of the dispersion medium. |
