PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyvinyl alcohol ("PVA")-based fiber suitable as a reinforcement material for hydraulic compositions such as cement or rubber, and improving moist heat resistance and simplicity of a manufacturing method while maintaining fiber strength.SOLUTION: The problem is solved by a fiber containing PVA having a degree of polymerization of 1800 or less, having fiber strength of 10cN/dtex or more and strength retention after a moist heat treatment at 130°C×10 hr. of 80% or more, and excellent in high strength and moist heat resistance. |
