<p>A computer implemented, automated method of managing a work flow in a process plant comprises creating a work item 605 specifying a task to be performed in the process plant. A set of procedures for execution of the work item 400 is determined 610 from the specified task. An associated display for each procedure is generated 615 and displayed on a mobile user interface device in an order in which the set of procedures is to be performed 620. The creation of a work item 605 may include receiving data from an expert system (505, Fig 5) and specifying a task based on this data. This may include receiving an instruction to perform a particular action with respect to a process control device. The specified task may include maintenance, calibration, replacement, inspection or repair tasks. A display may include images depicting the performance of a procedure and may include and an image of a target piece of equipment in the context of its surrounding to assist in the location of the equipment. Access to documentation related to the equipment may be provided. A process control system for managing a work flow in a process plant is also claimed.</p> |
