<p>A camera system (1) has at least one viewing camera (2,2') arranged in a casing (3) with at least one viewing window (4)in the casing (3). At least one cleaning installation (20)is provided for automatically preventing and/or removing visual impairments in the region of the viewing window (4), wherein the cleaning installation (20) can be controlled in respect of visual impairments which are present by means of an automated evaluation by an image processing of camera images of the viewing window (4) such that the choice of the cleaning methods and the time sequence thereof is made purposefully on the basis of a classification of the results of the automated evaluation. The cleaning methods may include wiping, heating, high pressure water jets or compressed air.</p> |
