The method involves finishing a tire carcass on a carcass drum, where tire components are not fitted on the carcass drum in form of side walls. The side walls are arranged on a curved drum, where the tire carcass is processed over the side walls arranged on the curved drum. A core clamping is performed with combination core clamping segments (16) of the curved drum. An inner sidewall component is turned up with a tuck lifter of the combination core clamping segment in a radial direction. The side walls lying on the curved drum are connected with the tire carcass in the tire bead area.
