Optical head (1) operating by laser light and based on the laser triangulation, comprises at least one optical unit for guiding the head along an optically detectable track (3) in the direction of travel, and examining the endless track (4) applied in or on the track, e.g. adhesive. The two optical units are arranged offset in the direction of travel, from which a test unit is operated in the same direction as the guide unit located at the front and the rear side. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a guided nozzle head comprising optical head, nozzles for discharging liquid or pasty substances, and nozzle head comprising a number of transverse planes of the nozzle aligned in different directions, where the optical units are oriented and dimensioned such that they can sense the impingement areas of at least two of the nozzles; and (2) applying nozzle head, comprising providing a rough track in the control, preferably optical guide unit, along the track, initiating a reference point, at the beginning of the track with the nozzle head, shutting down the track and applying the endless track through real-time guidance along the determined real-time fine-track through the optical guide unit, and checking the endless track, their location to the track and/or their cross-sectional contour, through the optical testing, in real time during the application of the bead or in a separate test run after the application of endless track.
